Beware of gimmicks and empty promises
Have you seen these before?
'Your home sold in 30 days or I'll buy it!' 'I'll sell your home in 3 weeks, or pay you $1,000!'
Before you list your home with an agent who makes these claims, be sure of what's really being 'guaranteed.' Does the guarantee stand if the agent doesn't sell your house? Does the agent pay you at closing, what if he or she doesn't sell your home? Is it in writing when and how they will compensate you? Be sure to read the 'fine print' and understand what's actually being 'guaranteed' before you sign anything. Anyone can 'guarantee' to sell your home, however the price and terms may not be in your best interests.
The best way to sell your home is not through some gimmick or empty promise. The most successful way to sell your home is through an effective marketing program (ask to see samples) and work with an agent who is dedicated, accessible, and actually listens to your needs, goals, and best interests.
